CRP is an abnormal
protein produced primarily by the liver
during an acute inflammatory process.
The CRP test is a more
sensitive and rapidly responding
indicator than the erythrocyte
sedimentation rate ( VES).
RF are
auto-antibodies found in
the blood and synovial fluid of
rheumatoid arthritis patients.
They may also be elevated
in patients with certain autoimmune
diseases, such as SLE.
RF level test is useful with CRP to
understand the possible reasons for
recurrent fevers and articulation pain.
